VALUES
WHO WE'RE PURSUING
As we follow Jesus, we believe His Word and His Spirit continually shape and transform our lives. The pursuit of Jesus changes us. This doesn't mean we are perfect or have reached a higher level of holiness. Nor does it mean we fall into despair when we fall short. It simply means we are continually turning our eyes to Jesus. As we pursue Christ, He faithfully renews, restores, strengthens, and transforms us. Day by day, we ask Him to make us more like Him so that our lives increasingly reflect His love to a world that desperately needs the hope of the Gospel.

THE CORE VALUES OF
REFUGE CHURCH
SPEAK LIFE
We are church where WORD and SPIRIT work together to bring life! We never use the Bible to destroy or tear others down. Everyone is welcome at Refuge regardless what their lives currently look like. We build them up in the Gospel of Jesus whether they ever believe it or not!
-2 Corinthians 3:6; John 6:63
-2 Corinthians 3:6; John 6:63
YES WE CAN
There is nothing God requires of us that we cannot do. There is no job too great or task too big. All things are possible through Christ! Our faith in Jesus leads to action and destroys cynicism and a critical spirit.
-Mark 9:23; Numbers 13:30
-Mark 9:23; Numbers 13:30
THIS IS
SPIRITUAL
The church is not a business. When those who are immature or unspiritual cause problems we remember that "we do not wrestle against flesh and blood." We fully entrust ourselves to Christ in every hardship and persecution and pray for those in flesh who are being used by the evil one.
-Ephesians 6:12; Matthew 5:10-11
-Ephesians 6:12; Matthew 5:10-11
BE FAITHFUL TO WHAT GOD HAS CALLED YOU TO
We each been given a personal assignment by the Lord. We don't compare callings, compete for recognition, or measure our importance against someone else's role. God gives different gifts, responsibilities, seasons, and assignments and every part of the Body matters. We celebrate what God is doing in others while faithfully tending what He's entrusted to us.
-2 Thessalonians 3:11-12; Romans 12:18
-2 Thessalonians 3:11-12; Romans 12:18

PEOPLE OVER PREFERENCE
We will gladly give up what's comfortable to help someone find Refuge in Christ. Church isn't about getting everything the way we like it. We hold our preferences loosely because people matter more. We make room, adapt, serve, and consider others before ourselves because the mission is bigger than our preference.
-Philippians 2:3-4
-Philippians 2:3-4
MAKE ROOM
We make room for others in our rows, our circles, our conversations, our Life Groups and our lives. We love others in a way that shows them they are a part of our family. We take the first step to reach out, love, serve others or reconcile.
-Romans 15:7; Luke 14:23
