Scripture is clear that we will need God's Spirit to live the Christian life (Romans 8:5-10). What does that look like for you?
Jesus told the disciples to wait on the Spirit before they began their work because they needed His power to be effective (Acts 1:8). Jesus asks pretty big things of us. We cannot be successful without the Spirit's help (John 14:26).
God's creation reveals to us that everything that is alive is in a state of growth from infancy into maturity. This is also true of the Christian life (Ephesians 4:14-15; 1 Peter 2:2-3). The Holy Spirit is key to our fruitful and measured growth in Christ (2 Corinthians 3:17-18; Galatians 5:22-33).
So many bad things happen in life. However, we never fall prey to a victim mentality or despair without hope (2 Corinthians 4:8-9). Life is hard and spiritual warfare is real. Satan wants to devour you (1 Peter 5:8). However, God's Spirit equips you with victory both in life and death (Romans 8:11; Ephesians 6:10-18).
