Jesus was born to teenage girl, grew up on the wrong side of town, and worked a blue-collar job until He was 30. He never held political office. He never wrote a book. He never married. He never attended college.
At 30 years old, Jesus began to travel and minister to people. He did this for 3 years before the Jews and Romans murdered Him.
The influence of Jesus 3 year ministry changed everything. We even divide history by His life. More songs, art, books, and buildings have been created to celebrate Him than any other person who has ever lived.
“Jesus did not mean to impose himself on mankind as God.” — Thomas Jefferson
“Jesus might be described as an underprivileged, working-class victim of political and religious persecution.” — Prince Philip
“I never saw a contradiction between the ideas that sustain me and the ideas of that symbol, of that extraordinary figure (Jesus).” — Fidel Castro
“Jesus was the first socialist.” — Mikhail Gorbachev
“A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic - on the level with the an who says he is a poached egg - or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God; or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us, He did not intend to.”
- C. S. Lewis
