Temptation

The serpent has done his worst in planting a seed of doubt, contradicting God, and appealing to human pride (vs. 4-5). Verse 6 shifts in focus from the serpent to Eve.
This is how temptation works...

Good for  Food / Lust For The Flesh — Insatiable Appetite / Desire
We want what we want. It manifests in food & drink, sexuality, or anything else that temporarily satisfies.

Delight to the Eyes / Lust of the Eyes — Never Satisfied / Envy, Jealousy
There is always something more. The grass is always greener in someone else's yard. Our gaze is prone to finding what we do not have.

Gospel Hope

The first Messianic prophecy of the Old Testament is found in Genesis 3:15. A seed of woman will be born. His heel will be bitten, but that heel will crush the serpent's head. The seed of woman's name is Jesus!
